Virtual weddings! They are here and I’m here for it.

As a floral designer, it’s been heartbreaking to see how couples have had to navigate what to do as their wedding day has been impacted by COVID-19. Now before you judge the idea of a virtual wedding during quarantine there are few things you should know in order to understand why couples are opting for socially distanced weddings.

For some, time is not on their side. There are many couples racing against the clock with a sick loved-one who they want to witness this incredible milestone in their life or an even more difficult situation, one of the partners is ill and waiting to exchange vows until this pandemic has passed is not an option.

For others, financially, moving their wedding to another date is not an option. So many couples have already invested more than they can afford into their special day and moving their wedding to a future date is just not fiscally possible as financial hardships will continue for some.

Deciding to have a virtual wedding is also based on practicality. Not everyone dreams about celebrating their wedding in a big way, and a virtual ceremony is the perfect, simple way to celebrate.

And then we all know those couples - a virtual wedding is a unique way to get married for the times, so why wait? Love is something we all need right now!

Whichever couple you might be, I support the choice of so many partners choosing to host a virtual wedding. And a virtual wedding does not mean it has to be any less beautiful.

Knowing how difficult it has been to cancel your venue, rentals, catering, and more, flowers don’t have to go. The

flowers you’ve already ordered can be repurposed to decorate your home into a gorgeous wedding ceremony that you and your virtual guests can enjoy.

As a flower-lover and lover of lovers, I want to help make sure couples still have a breathtaking setting to say “I do”. If you’ve ordered DIY flowers and need help arranging I will provide my services free of charge, in Southern Ontario, to design your home with the flowers you’ve purchased. And if you are a couple looking to coordinate a virtual wedding in need of flowers or planning a wedding for 2021 / 2022, I am offering 30% off my wedding floral design services if you book within the next three months. I also have a stock of hardgoods (vases, candle holders, etc.) that I will waive my rental fee.

I am a one person team who will come to your home with proper PPE (personal protective equipment) and remain 6ft. away from anyone at your location while working. All tools will have been sanitized prior to entering your home and I will work fast, and sanitize prior to leaving.

This is just one way I want to help all of the couples considering or already planning their virtual vows.
